What's inside the Community Centre?

Our Community Centre has several different venues inside. On the ground floor we have our theatre, dance hall, community centre office, Citizens' Advice Bureau, the kitchen and the drop in / hang space. We have a piano in the foyer space and the community fridge (anyone is welcome to put food in and take food out).

The theatre has a small ramp at its entrances – there are two and they are double wide doors. Take care when using this. The floor slopes down towards the stage.

The second level of our building has an elevator. This level has two meeting rooms, a larger meeting/craft room and The Wellington Timebank office. The Justice of the Peace service also operates out of one of the smaller rooms.

The stairs have good handrails on both sides.

Accessible Toilet

There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor – there is a baby change station for parents in this room. There are four other single toilets and for any gender to use.

Kitchen Facilities

Kitchen facilities can be used by most access users. There is a zip for boiling water which may be difficult for some users to use safely, but there is also a small Hot water Billie. The stove, microwave, cutlery & crockery is relatively easily reached.

Getting out safely

The exits at the Community Centre are well sign-posted. Although there are a number of exits, there is only one step free exit at the front entrance.
