Community Fridge Welcomes New Donor – Newtown Greengrocer

The wonderful people at the Newtown Greengrocer have been helping us out with leftover kai for our Free Soup Friday on the regular for the last couple of years, and now they’ve come on board with providing kai for the Community Fridge as well! Our Community Fridge gets FREE kai to people who want or need it, and stops perfectly good food being chucked out. Newtown Greengrocer in the last few weeks has donated a HUUUUUGE amount of ginger, mushrooms and eggplant.  

Newtown Greengrocer joins Peoples Cafe and Baobab as donors to the Community Fridge - these cafes daily provide the Community Fridge with leftover pastries and delicious snacks. We accept fresh produce donations from the community as well, so if you find yourself with excess zucchini (and can’t make it to the Crop Swap), feel free to come and drop it off as well.  

The Community Fridge is FREE for anyone in the community, is located in the foyer of the renovated centre (corner of Colombo and Rintoul Streets), so people can access it anytime during our opening hours.
