Long Standing Community Services shift in Newtown 

Citizens Advice (CAB) is moving to a new location in Newtown where it will continue its 50 year tradition of providing free and independent advice toNewtown people.

From next week (9 October) CAB will be at 9/11 Constable Street, right next to the Library, moving from its current location in Te Whare Hapori o Ngā Puna Waiora / Newtown Community Centre. 

CAB helps people to know and understand their rights and obligations, and how to use this information to get the best outcomes. People are provided with the confidence and support they need to take action. The service is free and independent.

While the office will be closed for a few days for the move, you can still reach CAB for free information and advice by calling 04 472 2466 or emailing wellingtoncentral@cab.org.nz.

Smart Newtown is shifting to Te Whare Hapori o Ngā Puna Waiora / Newtown Community Centre.  Smart Newtown will be keeping all of their old and new services running, including free use of desktop PCs and wi-fi, free scanning, low-cost printing and laminating,technical help (with online accounts, computers and smartphones), computer classes, and Skinny Jump signups

Ellie Clayton, one of the co-Kaiwhakahaere / Managers at the Centre said today: “There will be a huge benefit to the Community Centre in having all of our services under one roof  - we’re excited to welcome Smart Newtown.”

"The Citizen’s Advice Bureau will continue to provide their excellent service to the people of Newtown over on Constable Street, as they have here at the Community Centre for many years. We’re looking forward to referring clients over to their new street-front location.”
